Position: Deputy ManagerLocation: SalfordHours: Contracted 40 Hours a week - Day and Sleeper ShiftsSalary: 28,000 per Annam with extras for Sleepers and overtimeAs the Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the effective functioning of the childrens home. Your main responsibility will be overseeing the daily operations and providing high-quality care and support to the children.Additionally, you will manage and support the staff team to ensure they deliver the best possible care.About the Organisation: Our Client is driven by a small yet dedicated staffing team, fostering a close-knit and supportive work environment. With the service being in its infancy, there is no established hierarchy,and they are fully committed to training all staff members to achieve their NVQ Level 5 in childcare.Key Responsibilities:* Collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth running of the childrens home.* Manage the staff team, including recruitment, training, and supervision.* Ensure the children receive exceptional care and support based on their individual care plans.* Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.* Effectively manage the homes budget, optimising resource allocation.* Keep accurate records and reports, including care plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.* Liaise with external agencies, such as social services and healthcare professionals, to provide necessary support and care for the children.* Act as the Deputy Manager in the absence of the Registered Manager.Candidate Requirements:* Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.* Possess relevant experience working in a childrens home, demonstrating a strong understanding of the needs of children in care.* Display effective staff management skills, including recruitment, training, and supervision.* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, staff, and external agencies.* Demonstrate strong organizational and administrative abilities, ensuring accurate record-keeping.* Show unwavering commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.* Adaptability and flexibility to manage competing priorities under pressure.* Possess a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.
