Opportunity OverviewWe currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic Building Manager to join our Facilities team!As a friendly, approachable, and professional person with high standards, you will take pride in managing a Facilities team in maintaining and ensuring the campus and buildings are always pleasant, inviting and fit for purpose for students, staff and membersof the public alike.Working both inside and outside campus buildings, your will manage and oversee a combination of in house and contracted staff who will carry out a variety of maintenance tasks, complete Statutory Checks, such Fire Alarm Testing. Also, you will manage a teamof Building Attendants who carry out the cleaning function around all University Buildings. Not only that, but it also allows for plenty of opportunity to get your steps in with being on your feet all day!Whilst working on your own initiative in the main but also as part of the wider Estates team, your strong written, IT and verbal communication skills and exceptional customer care skills will shine through in this role, as you complete your general tasks andtend to query and situations that arise daily. You will arrange, carry out and update customers on the various works we are required to complete. The ability to report on all situations and communicate that make up your day is important. It will be part of the Building Manager role to contribute towards creating an inclusive culture where all our students and staff recognise themselvesin those that surround them and can bring their whole selves to the University.A bit about Estates and Property Services…Estates & Facilities Services Directorate is responsible for delivering a full estates and facilities management service to the University, including property maintenance, planned maintenance and renovation, cleaning, security, caretaking and facilitating spacesfor our staff and students.The Facilities Management team sits within the Estates and Property Service Division.
