Job Description

Accounts Assistant SalfordSalary: £20,000 - £25,000 plus benefits & some home workingOur client is a rapidly expanding construction and facilities company in Salford who are looking for and Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their friendly team.Purpose of the role:This role will be within the finance team and focused primarily on the duties surrounding the purchase ledger. This role requires somebody with a flexible approach and excellent interpersonal skills.Core duties and responsibilities:Purchase Ledger

  • Matching incoming invoices to delivery notes and purchase orders ensuring correct quantities and pricing
  • Inputting verified invoices onto job costing system, attaching barcode label and scanning invoices / delivery notes onto system
  • Dealing with all supplier queries in relation to any differences, and follow through with ensuring correct credit notes are received
  • Reconciling external plant hire invoices to internal bulk sheets and supplier price lists, ensuring that plant is still on site and pricing is correct
  • Reconciling supplier statements and dealing with any differences
  • Preparation and upload of monthly supplier payment run
  • Ad hoc one-off supplier payments
  • Complete month end checks in a timely manner
Other Accounts Duties
  • Posting internal recharge invoices including vehicles & plant
  • Raising sales invoices from approved day sheets
  • Support the Finance Director with ad-hoc tasks as required
Office Duties
  • Sorting all mail received, date stamped and distributed to correct persons / department
  • Dealing with incoming calls to the accounts office, and responding to any voicemails
  • Assist with answering the main reception door and greeting visitors
Person Specification:
  • Previous purchase ledger experience
  • Able to deliver numerous tasks with a quick turnaround
  • IT literate with previous knowledge of Sage desirable
  • Excellent organisation skills
