Job Description

Financial Controller (Hybrid role) - I am currently recruiting for a Qualified Financial Controller (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) for this dynamic organisation in Manchester. The Financial Controller is a genuine No 2 to the Finance Director and is a hands-on role.You will be responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, including managing a team of six in accounts.Key tasks include:

  • Managing the month end process to enable the production of monthly management accounts
  • Preparing monthly board reports and quarterly group reporting packs
  • Reviewing weekly flash reporting
  • Assisting the team with implementing processes for new clients.
  • Building a robust balance sheet process enabling monthly reviews.
  • Overseeing the production of statutory accounts and managing both internal and external audits.
  • Supporting in development of budgets and forecasting processes.
  • Managing the team from on onboarding to offboarding, including sourcing, regular 1-2-1s, appraisals, monitoring and acting upon performance as well as training & development.
  • Working with the payroll department to ensure correct reporting and adherence to any legislative changes
  • Facilitating and reviewing the corporation tax submission prepared by external advisors.
  • Overseeing any VAT and other tax submissions
  • Ensuring compliance is adhered to, including maintaining internal review and controls.
  • Coordinating the housekeeping of systems and consolidation and liquidation of dormant entities
  • Supporting the FD on commercial modelling and strategic discussions.
  • Managing ad hoc projects
  • Reviewing and maintaining adherence to accounting standard (IFRS and UK GAAP)
The position will suit a dynamic hands-on Qualified Financial Controller (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong reporting skills and previous staff management experience. You will have experience of working in a fast-paced and ever changing environment. Strong communicationskills are key, as you will be required to liaise with senior stakeholders inside and outside the business. The Financial Controller with have the opportunity to work from home 2 days a weeks
