Job Description

EstimatorCambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, RutlandUp to £45,000 per annum plus car allowancePermanent, Full TimeDo you have experience of estimating in the construction industryIf you’ve got recent experience of working in an Estimating role in the private or affordable housing sector and you have provided cost advice on new housing developments then you have an opportunity to join a leading Housing Association which has a mission statement of "Improving Lives".You will form part of the Land and New Business team who are responsible for identifying land and partnership opportunities to our client. The team has a large pipeline of new sites and these are expected to contribute towards delivering a development program of over 1,000 new homes per year.You will have successfully provided cost advice at both pre-construction stage through the diligence period and through to scheme completion. This role offers the opportunity to be based at one of various office locations across the Group as well as an opportunity for flexible working.   • Contributing to the overall operation and business plan needs of the Group. Helping to deliver the corporate vision, values and key messages and promote the effective corporate working of the organisation.
  • Assisting the Land and New Business department with cost advice input on site appraisals ensuring that they remain competitive in a challenging market place.
  • Responsible for preparing land appraisals for all new pipeline land opportunities on relevant land appraisal software.
  • Ensuring that new sites are purchased in line with key performance indicators. Aid continuous improvement and service success.
  • Have proven knowledge of up to date construction cost information in line with current rates.
  • Represent the Group with internal and external stakeholders, attending meetings, training and conferences as necessary.
  • Champion the Land and New Business department through continually improving processes and outcomes for staff and stakeholders.

  • Have recent experience of working within the housing sector in a similar role
  • Be commercially minded and be able to identify ways of adding value with creative thinking
  • Adept and confident in managing multiple projects
  • Dealing with a wide variety of internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Be forward thinking and able to look for positive solutions in solving complex issues relating to the role
  • Responsible for accurately reporting and presenting outcomes to the team and external.
  • Working individually and as part of the wider team.
