Job Description

Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Yard Operative for our Rugby branch, whos as passionate about great service as we are.We provide a fulfilling and enjoyable work environment with ample opportunities for career growth.Hours - 7.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8am - 12pmKey Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
  • Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson Values
  • Help to prepare customer orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided)
  • Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
  • Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
  • Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
  • Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Stellar communication and people skills
  • Customer focussed individual
  • Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S
  • Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
