Job Description

Job Title: Compliance Engineer Location: Rugby Business Area: Engineering / Rotating Machinery My client is an independent, multi-disciplined service provider who are continuing to grow. They support the industrial, infrastructure, commercial and service sectors with a unique range of contracting and rotating machine services as well as developingand providing support products offered through the group of companies.The Role… They are looking for a Compliance and Certification Engineer to be responsible for ensuring all products are compliant with relevant regulatory requirements. The role will include working with various regulatory bodies to identify and execute technical certificationrequirements. Additionally, the role will encompass the production of test and quality documents to demonstrate compliance with stringent client quality requirements.The main areas of conformity to be addressed are:Electrical safety (low, medium and high voltage machines)EMC complianceUKCA/CE marking of relevant productsFunctional safety (control functions for machinery safety)ATEX/IECEx/UKCA certification for Ex applications (primarily Ex eb’ & ec’).Quality requirements for Nuclear and equivalent industriesCompliance with Classification Society design requirements for offshore applicationsThe primary responsibilities of the role are:To identify any regulatory requirements and cost implications at project bid stageTo prepare validation & verification reports with supporting test plans & reports that can be used to certify the productTo assist in ensuring that conformity requirements are correctly reflected in user documentationTo maintain an awareness of relevant developments in international technical standards and regulations, including in applications affecting the safety of machineryResponsible for working in collaboration with the design engineers to ensure that products under development meet requirements and specificationsLead and manage the process of ensuring that all the equipment, products and process systems are marked in accordance with the relevant directives, for example CE/UKCALeading design and machinery risk assessments in line with national/international standards for equipment, products, and systemsEnsure compliance documentation from suppliers of products being supplied as part of projects meets regulation standardsDeveloping and managing all compliance documentation as part of an overall Quality Management systems process in line with company ISO9001proceduresManaging the generation of project documents, including operation manuals, and test and review documents for capital equipment projectsCompile all job packs, including key certifications and documentation repositories and archives (electronic and paper)To be the Ex/ATEX/IECEx Authorised Person - The technical authority and point of contact for all queries and issues relating to Ex certification for new and repaired/serviced equipment, including liaison with 3rd party authoritiesMaintain the EU Authorised Representative Technical FileThe successful candidate will possess:-A degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate Engineering disciplineKnowledge of compliance with key international standardsA minimum of 3 year’s experience of compliance engineering/ safety engineeringProven experience working on multi - disciplinary systems (Electrical, Mechanical Software)Technically strong with a commercial mind-setCustomer facing skills to agree quality requirements and compliance demonstrationProblem solving skillsThe company offer:-A unique experience working for a business that values autonomy by gifting employee’s with responsibility and ownership in their field of speciality.In addition to the usual benefits , they offer:-25 days annual leaveGym subsidy paymentEnhanced company contribution pension schemeAccess to a substantial number of courses and training eventsCareer development and trainingHealth AssessmentsEmployee Assistance ProgrammeThis is a rare opportunity to join a market leading organisation who offer career development and progression in a professional and suuportive working environment
