Job Description

Warehouse Shift ManagerAfternoon Shift1400 - 2200 Mon - Fri (some Saturday as OT)£34000 + OTFull Time - Permanent JobNew year, New Job!We are looking for a strong Warehouse Shift Manager to work a fixed afternoon shift at a busy, clean, modern warehouse on the DIRFT area of Rugby.This is a fixed 1400 -2200 shift working Monday - Friday (occasional Saturday work) and a role where you supervise a small team of 10 staff (including 1 x Team Leader) and ensure that the shift runs like clockwork.Its a typical shift manager role where you deal with training, recruitment, work to work, performance reviews but also ensure that pick and putaway targets are hit and the end customer is happy.There will be computers to use (JDA / Red Prairie), paperwork to complete and its a shop floor-based role (sorry, we are NOT looking for an office-based person or an operations manager from a larger shed).The perfect candidate will have:

  • A hands-on approach to management.
  • A solid background working as a shift manager in a logistics environment (not a retail manager or office manager).
  • Process driven, computer literate and a strong people manager.
  • Someone who can use JDA / Red Prairie another other WMS systems.
  • A person who can develop staff, bring people around to a way of thinking and target driven.
  • If you have experience in BRC certificates or ISO practices, then that would be of particular interest.
