Technical Manager - Construction Salary: Up to £50,000 including Car + Benefits Location: Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire Nationwide Recruitment Services is in search of a talented Technical Manager, witha construction background for an exciting new role based in the Home Counties. The successful technical manager, will have experience of working with construction managers, roofing installer, waterproof systems experts, site visits, attending sites of liveprojects, work in progress, conducting inspections and monitoring the project from a technical perspective. To that end you will have dealt with waterproof systems, general construction including roofing, ensuring technical specification and installation instructionshave been complied and confirmed with. You will have experience of reporting and inspection the same feeding back to clients. You will be savvy with a computer, technical drawings, phone apps/ applications and understand roofing and installation methodology.Installing experience is not essential, but demonstrable knowledge of applicable flat roofing installation details and standards is required. You must have good communication skills, attention to detail, and proactively manage your diary and arrangements whilemeeting visit targets. Due to the nature of the role, there is a lot of driving and travelling involved between sites. You should be comfortable with these working conditions. Key Accountabilities: Undertake inspections of live projects per the departmentsservice targets (up to 4 visits per day). Support contractors, installers, and clients, during the installation of live projects. Accurately report on improvements required, and non-conformances to specification in a clear manner. Undertake letter writingto ensure that your visits and findings are accurately recorded and sent to your line manager for checking. Communicate with sales and technical colleagues, as well as clients and customers, in relation to any technical matters raised on live projects underyour watch. Sign off completed installations using the company CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics) and push the project or roof area to the guaranteed stage. Attend on-site design or technical meetings on live projects with sales colleagues. Support the aftercareteam with annual inspections. Undertake contractor on-site audits for contractor approval purposes. Undertake installer on-site registration for registered installer purposes. Pre-Requisite Experience: Working in a technically related environment. Workingin the UK flat roofing industry. Identifying and resolving problems on flat roof systems. Working with flat roof systems in either an installation or technically related position. Experience working with torch-applied and self-adhered bitumen membranes, polyurethaneand PMMA liquid membranes, hot melt (desirable), and cold polyurea (desirable). Working with pitched roof systems in either an installation or technically related position (desirable). Write reports or otherwise clearly communicate technical matters. Conflictresolution. Working independently, including self-organisation, motivation, and maintaining strong colleague relationships. Knowledge: British StandardsBS - applicable to UK flat roofing. Building regulations applicable to UK flat roofing. As above, but for pitched roofing (desirable). Able to use a PC, including Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software the organisation uses. This role requiresthe post holder to be an Essential Car User, hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
