Job Description

We currently have a Water Network Technician position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Roundswell, Barnstaple. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £21,750 - £27,000 per annum in line with the company progression scheme plus standby and overtime. In return, we offer an excellent range of benefits which include free car parking at the majority of our sites, company Sharesave Scheme, and various health benefits.About the role of Water Network Technician:You will provide a safe and first-rate level of service to our customers through effective network operation and maintenance and hands-on resolution to contacts in a timely manner while also working with the wider Drinking Water Services teams to ensurethe water supply network is effectively maintained and recorded. The varied role of Water Network Technician entails working outdoors, visiting customers, visiting our sites, and meeting other external stakeholders.Responsibilities as our Water Network Technician:- Taking personal ownership of customer queries and complaints and seeing them through to the appropriate conclusion- Carrying out duties associated with the maintenance and repair of network assets so that it remains calm and therefore prevents or minimises interruptions of supply and changes of water quality- Recording all actions via risk assessment and other record-keeping tools- Working diligently to prevent Supply Interruption (SI) events but where they do occur, thoroughly and swiftly enabling all known mitigations and processes- Working with the wider Drinking Water Services teams, partners, and contractors to carry out planned and reactive operational maintenance within the distribution network and other assets where necessary, including O&M activity, cyclic maintenance, flushing& filtering, No-Dig repairs, and replacementsWhat we are looking for in our Water Network Technician:- Full UK Drivers Licence- Proven ability to communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external customers in both verbal and written contexts- Knowledge of computerised systems which will include both MS Office, GIS, work management and data logging.- Understanding, qualification, and experience of the principals of COSHH, Lone Working, confined space, electrical panel entry, and basic first aid- Strong skills in problem-solving and fault finding from a water network perspective- Demonstratable knowledge of working in the highway- Streetworks qualification desirable- Previous pipeline construction experience desirableClosing date: Thursday 14th OctoberIf you are looking for a new challenge, please click apply now to be considered as our Water Network Technician - we look forward to receiving your application.
