Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group are working exclusively with a Special Purpose Machinery Manufacturer to help them recruit a Lead Design Engineer for their site in Rotherham.My client designs & builds process equipment for the Oil & Gas and Renewables sectors. They have built a reputation as being able to deliver for their customers on technically challenging projects where their competitors cannot. If youre an Engineer whoenjoys problem-solving and working within a team of like-minded individuals, this could be the role for you.As Lead Engineer, youll report to the Engineering Director and lead/mentor a small team of Engineers and Draftspeople. Specific duties will include:

  • Responsible for producing detailed thermal designs for Heat Exchanger products
  • Lead, develop and maintain a thorough understanding of and capability in using proprietary design and third party software
  • Participate in the development of GES Net Zero products inc Hydroegn, Energy Storage & Carbon Capture
  • Participate and where required lead GES-funded R&D projects around Hydrogen & Energy Storage
  • Responsible for the production of mechanical designs for Heat Exchangers
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Heat Exchanger market and the latest available technology
  • Responsible for identifying and developing relationships with suppliers of Heat Exchangers media and related material and equipment
  • Assist the Engineering Director with the completion of allocated proposals
  • Liaise with Clients as necessary to challenge, clarify or develop their requirements
  • Prepare full proposal documents, including equipment and process descriptions, data sheets and outline and outline drawings where necessary
  • Responsible for ensuring that technical risk is identified, minimised and acceptable
  • Responsible for writing and producing proposal documents

Were keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • Previous Heat Exchanger design experience
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role, resolving issues
