Job Description

Progress CoachHours; Full time, term time (37hrs per week working 42wks per year), Duration; PermanentSalary; £20,387 (£18,662.74 pro-rata) per annum + benefitsLocation; Dearne Valley College, Rotherham About the RoleDo you want to play a key role in helping learners make progress and achieve their qualification or reach their goal If so, this role is for you.In this role you will:

  • Support learners to recognise the importance attendance plays in making progress and achieving;
  • Support learners to overcome barriers to achieving both their personal and academic goals;
  • Contribute to the personal development of learners by delivering pre-prepared personal development curriculum.
You will be a team player who is energetic, innovative, flexible and someone who is fully committed to supporting learners to make the very best progress possible. You may have experience you can bring to support our learners on their journey from an establishedcareer in education, or at the start of your career and want to bring your current expertise and drive to this role.You willYou will experience working with young people with a similar environment, ideally a school or college. You will also have experience of working with external agencies that support young people.You will hold a level 3 vocational qualification (or above) as well as maths and English, equivalent to GCSE 4/C or above. Additional qualifications such as counselling or teaching & Learning are desirable. You will have excellent communication skills, being able to relate to young people in a positive and sympathetic manner. Department InfoYou will be line managed by the Learner Progress and Employability Lead and will receive regular operational support and updates from the cross-college the Learner Experience team. You will collaborate effectively with cross college staff including VocationalTeams; the Quality Team, the Additional Learning Support Team, the Exams Team and the Library Staff.Our excellent benefits and rewards package:
