Job Description

THE COMPANY:Brewster Partners have an excellent opportunity for a Press Operator, working for a Sheffield-based steel engineering and manufacturing company. Our client specialises in armour plate manufacture, laser cutting and bending, high-definition plasma cutting,waterjet cutting, gas profile cutting and CNC Machining. They are one of the largest laser cutting operations in the UKs fabrication and engineering sector.This is the perfect opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to thrive, working within a successful and vibrant team.THE JOB:Responsibilities:

  • Operating press brake machine, ensuring it runs continuously to ensure maximum productivity
  • Producing orders on time and to the correct quality standard
  • Manoeuvring of materials on to and off the press machines, either by crane or manually
  • Setting up the machine by reading engineering drawings, programming, tooling changes
  • Marking up of pressed parts and packing
  • Reporting to the Press Team Leader
  • Hours of work - Shift rotation of 6am-2pm, 2pm - 10pm, 10pm - 6am. 37.5 hours per week
THE PERSON:
  • Must have previous experience operating a press brake machine
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of different metals an advantage.
  • Competent in the use of all forms of measuring equipment including verniers, rulers, angle measuring devices
  • Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Able to work pro-actively and as part of a team to improve productivity and efficiency
