Job Description

Elevation Recruitments Skilled Shop Floor Team are proud to be working in partnership with a large fabrication business in Rotherham.The role of a Plater/Fabricator:A Plater/Fabricator plays a vital role in the manufacturing and production of metal components and structures. This position involves working with various types of metal to create parts, products and structures according to engineering specifications andproject requirements. Metal Fabricators use a variety of tools and techniques, including welding, cutting and shaping to produce high-quality metalwork.Salary:£14.74phOverview of the role of a Plater/Fabricator:Skills & Experience:

  • Workshop fabrication involving working from drawings;
  • Constructing base templates, if necessary;
  • Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines;
  • Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work;
  • Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, punch presses, flame cutters and shears;
  • Fabricating and constructing metal components;
  • Grinding and finishing completed products;
  • Cleaning tools, equipment and work areas;
  • Using measuring tools and basic math skills to ensure accurate dimensions;
  • Operate welding equipment and other fabrication machinery;
  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with company and customer procedures;
  • Ensure the appropriate PPE for the task and work area is worn at all times.
The successful candidate:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication or equivalent;
  • 5 plus years’ experience in a similar industry or role;
  • Enthusiastic well organised and diligent, with the ability to work to strict deadlines whilst paying attention to detail;
  • Good motivational and resource planning skills.
