Job Description

Castlefield Recruitment are currently recruiting a Contracts Manager for a housing association based in South Yorkshire. This is a permanent role, with a salary on £43,257 - £48,455 per annum, and sits within the commercial team. The role is home based,with ad-hoc travel to office and site required.The role:

  • To ensure the successful management and delivery of construction, refurbishment and maintenance works undertaken by the housing association and its contractors.
  • Manage packages of work that need to be developed from the pre construction phase to practical completion, ensuring that works are being delivered on time, safely and to agreed standards and budgets.
  • Ensure that the effective management of commercial contracts including contract negotiation, agreement of scheme costs, managing variations, valuations and payment of final accounts is undertaken.
  • Oversee the effective contract administration of building contracts.
  • Undertake procurement exercises for work based contracts and work collaboratively with the Procurement Team to ensure they adhere to PCR 2015.
  • Provide effective line management for staff including a Quantity Surveyor and 4x Construction Project Managers
The person:
  • Possesses a level 6 construction-related qualification
  • Holds a CSCS white card, or prepared to obtain one within first 6 months of employment
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work, CDM and Building regulations
  • Experience of managing construction projects
  • Working knowledge of building pathology and construction practice and techniques
  • Experience of successfully measuring, estimating, and valuing contractors’ work to deliver VFM
