Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Director Commissioning, Performance and Quality for the Childrens Services within one of our local government clients based in Rotherham.The Assistant Director Commissioning, Performance and Quality will contribute to the strategic direction, impact and overall performance of the Childrens Services directorate. They will also link into the CCG’s Operational Executive Team, managing the children and young people’s Health Commissioned Services. They will develop range of patient/customer outcome-focused services that are responsive and flexible with regard to patient/customer need; identify clear objectives for the whole service, overseeing development and performance management of action plans and ensuring identification and response to major risks; align commissioning plans and planning cycles; provide full and detailed information to individual Commissioners, Elected Members and the CCG’s governing body to assist them in decision making with relation to activities covered by the service.Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Successful track record and background of consistent achievement as a senior manager in a large, complex organisation
  • Thorough working knowledge of Children’s and Young People’s Services, central government strategic agendas (including working together, child protection, safeguarding issues, equality and diversity, health and safety, children’s health services etc.)
  • Substantial and successful direct management of resources experience in Childrens Services
  • Strategic budget management in the Public Sector, including evaluation of competing budgetary priorities within tight financial limits
  • Establishing effective performance measures and a performance culture that achieves corporate and service objectives
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering successful partnerships working with a wide range of internal and external people, developing a positive personal and organisational profile, creating effective sustainable supplier relationships
