Our responsibilities include: • Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment • Provide utilities services • Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering) • Provide a safe place to train • Allocate Service Families Accommodation • Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair • Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning • Act as steward of the Defence estate • Provide the unarmed guarding service We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions, and we work across the world; in Germany, Cyprus Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman. You can view our YouTube video to see more about our workJob descriptionThe ChallengeDIO have the opportunity for Senior Health & Safety Advisors to join a fast moving and agile H&S team. Join the fast moving highly agile Regional H&S Support team (RHSST) who provide the intelligent customer capability for H&S DIO. Through our proactive approach to assurance and performance; we aim to monitor and develop DIO policy to meet H&S legislation, codes of practice and MOD policies. The team also provide a professional support capability for estate infrastructure areas in respect of advice and guidance on all matters H&S.ResponsibilitiesMain ResponsibilitiesKey duties: • To provide advice and guidance on all matters H&S in a timely manner • Engage with the wider workforce and deliver H&S training • Develop policy and procedures through engagement with the wider subject matter experts within the organisation • Investigate incidents and provide root cause analysis • Line Manage staff as required • Collaborate with Maintenance Management Organisation • Undertake (based on risk) deep drive assurance reviews within the organisation to establish H&S compliance • Provide H&S support to Commercial through undertaking Pre-qualification questions (PQQ) reviews, tender evaluations, Construction Design Management (CDM) competency assessments on behalf of MOD Client, construction site monitoring activities & construction site surveillance. • Embracing DIO’s values and using these to improve performance LocationOne post covering Scotland and NI Region Rosyth Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Rosyth, KY11 2BL OR RAF Lossiemouth, Moray, IV31 6SD The post holder must be located within the geographical region as this is a regional role. Other sites may be considered within the DIO geographical region for the successful candidate. DIO Technical Services are based across the UK including Scotland and Northern Ireland and central regions. We offer a flexible base location for this role and will therefore make one of these locations your duty station where possible. Where this is not possible, we will look to assign an alternative MOD establishment as your duty station. Work location will be agreed once the successful candidate has been selected.
