Job Description

A Capability Development Business Partner is required t work for a large defence company based in Rosyth to work in Capability Development Centre of Expertise (CoE). The jobholder is responsible for ensuring that the correct mix of new talent is broughtinto the organisation at the Rosyth site to support future growth requirements. The Capability Development Business Partner will report into the Early Careers Manager based in Leicester. On an interim basis, this role will also provide coordination support to deliver all of the activity required to facilitate the implementation of the L&D strategy in Rosyth. The role will have a significant involvement in ensuring close integration of the differentL&D disciplines and must set a climate where units work together to deliver the overall objectives of the function. In order to achieve this, we recognise that our people are critical to our success and the work we undertake must develop them in order to meet our obligations to our customer. This will entail improving the experiences of our Early Careers employees duringtheir programmes in Rosyth and providing consistency of the offering across the Group. The role will also involve leading the STEM engagement programme in Rosyth in support of the Early Careers strategy and for managing the development programmes for our apprentices. The role will be based at the Babcock Rosyth site. The key responsibilities will be: Work in partnership with the Early Careers Manager to understand the work force plan requirements for a sector. Responsible for the full on-boarding process of the early careers programmes within Rosyth. To build strong relationships and work with key stakeholders and external organisations to develop the apprenticeship programme. To ensure the early careers placements deliver the required output to meet both business and individual needs. Effective monitoring & reporting of performance across the early careers community. To support the Early Careers Manager in reviewing the early careers programmes at Rosyth, to identify and implement improvements and changes necessary to ensure our apprentice programmes are attractive in the recruitment market place, but also providing highquality employees into the business. Overseeing the STEM engagement delivery at the Rosyth site through ongoing management of the programme. This will include overseeing the STEM ambassador community and STEM events i.e. Festival of Engineering. Working with the Capability Development Centre of Expertise to share knowledge and best practice. Work closely with various leaders across the organisation to gain a full understanding of their business units L&D requirements. Work with discipline subject matter experts and managers to develop outline L&D solutions that address the business requirements. Monitor and coordinate L&D activities, liaising with managers, employees and third party providers and report progress. Support the adoption of competency management by all business units. Support change initiatives using recognised Project Delivery techniques. Support the Capability Development CoE in operational activity, including training delivery when required, to meet business strategies and strategic direction, standards and requirements. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders on the benefits of the early career programmes. Partnership working with the local training providers and colleges our apprentices attend. Experience and Competencies; Good knowledge of early careers development and recruitment practices including experience in identifying the most effective methods by which to develop and retain talent and shaping bespoke programmes to meet both business and individual needs Able to ensure that company policies, procedures and processes are developed, reviewed, updated and implemented as required. Has an understanding of the apprenticeship funding process through Skills Development Scotland. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills Methodical and ability to use own initiative General Knowledge of employment legislation Qualifications Educated to A Level Standard or equivalent (level 3 of the national qualification framework) GCSE level English & Maths (or equivalent) Morson is acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
