Job Description

Rossendale, Lancashire Senior Connection Engineer Salary: £50,000 to £58,000 (Dependant on Experience)Hours of work: 37 hours a week Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5pm, 30 mins lunch Friday - 8:30am to 2pmAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Structural Connections Engineer to join the team of a well established fabricating company in the Rossendale area. Successful candidates must be energetic, bright and have the ability to prioritisea busy workload. As a time-served professional, you will be responsible for the connection design of main primary and secondary members associated with the various types of steel framed structures.Senior Connection Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and detail structural steelwork connections using dedicated software, such as Tekla, IDEA Statica, and Autodesk Robot.
  • Develop temporary works designs where required.
  • Engage in value engineering and design development to achieve economical solutions.
  • Liaise with the drawing office team, along with clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Attend design meetings and provide expert input.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Skills and Experience Required by a Senior Connection Engineer:
  • Extensive working experience as a Structural Steelwork Connection Designer in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in software such as Tekla, IDEA Statica, and Autodesk Robot.
  • Professional qualifications in a relevant field are required.
  • Membership in professional organizations is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Experience in liaising with clients and attending design meetings.
  • Willingness to occasionally visit clients and project sites.
  • Enthusiastic, committed & driven to achieve effective results and reach all targets.
