Job Description

Jacobson Group, a leading supplier of footwear with brands including, Gola, Lotus, Dunlop, Ravel, Lonsdale and Frank Wright, is looking to recruit an experienced Footwear Quality Manager to oversee product compliance, QA & QC, at our Rawtenstall head officeand Oldham warehouse site.Footwear Quality Manager Lancashire, BB4 Salary Circa £45,000 per annum, negotiable dependant on skills and experiencePermanent, Full time Please Note: Applicants must be eligible to work in the UKAlong with the product development and sourcing teams, you will assist in the development process ensuring that product is fit for purpose, meeting customer quality expectations, whilst minimising returns and non-conformances. You will identify all non-conformingproduct, during the development process, in pre-production and from bulk production, and help to identify corrective and preventive actions. You will monitor our supplier base in terms of Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility.About YouYou will have at least 2 years experience in a footwear role as:

  • Quality Manager, or
  • Footwear Technologist, or
  • Management or Supervisory Footwear production role.
You will also:
  • Be a team player.
  • Have great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Be an excellent communicator.
  • Have experience of working and liaising with suppliers, including offshore & Far East suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Be willing to travel to India, China, Vietnam and other national and international destinations.
  • Be competent using MS Office package.
Responsibilities:
  • Regular communication with design and development teams on technical issues for new developments.
  • Ensure product safety is monitored when developing product.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure that product is accurately specified.
  • Manage all pre-production elements within the group on a technical and RS element.
  • Follow through all pre-production comments ensuring that goods supplied are to specification and fit for purpose.
  • Ensure that suppliers follow QA reporting procedures, including Work in Progress and Final Inspection Reports.
  • Identify product not meeting specification and/or customer requirements and/or quality requirements and/or legislative requirements and help implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage all non-conformance fines through to completion.
  • Provide technical and production oriented support to the business and our customers and suppliers.
  • Product testing.
  • Restricted substance control.
  • Ethical Auditing of suppliers.
  • Liaise with customers QA and CSR teams to provide audits and testing where required.
  • Manage sustainable aspects related to the brands such as Vegan Friendly and recycled materials alternatives.
  • Maintain and enhance product knowledge.
Skill Sets:
  • Extensive knowledge of all footwear manufacturing processes
  • Technical knowledge of footwear construction, grading and last dimensions.
  • Full knowledge of REACH and US compliance for restricted substances.
  • Experience of fitting of footwear and how to measure models.
  • Management of sealed samples and ensuring production schedules are maintained when samples need approval.
