Job Description

English Teacher - Alternative Provision SchoolRossendale, Lancashire£130 - £230 per dayTerm Time OnlyTradewind Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join an Alternative Provision School in Rossendale. As an English Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with children from Key Stage 3 - Key Stage 4, who may haveemotional and behavioural difficulties.The successful candidate will hold a teaching qualification and have experience working within an Alternative Provision setting. You will also have experience in deescalating challenging behaviour and supporting children with Social, Emotional and MentalHealth (SEMH) needs.Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to pupils with a range of abilities and needs
  • Adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Support pupils in developing their literacy skills and preparing for exams
  • Manage challenging behaviour effectively using de-escalation techniques
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to support pupils academic and emotional needs
Requirements:
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working within an Alternative Provision setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and experience in deescalating challenging behaviour
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
  • Ability to adapt teaching style to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
