Job Description

Rossendale, Lancashire Draughtsman Salary:£35,000 to £45,000 (Dependant on Experience)Hours of work: 37 hours a weekMonday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5pm, 30 mins lunchFriday - 8:30am to 2pmAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Draughtsman to join the team of a well established fabricating company in the Rossendale area. Successful candidates must be energetic, bright and have the ability to prioritise a busy workload, who canprovide drawing office services for all projects for estimating, design, fabrication and erection.Draughtsman Key Responsibilities:

  • At tender stage, estimating and generate 3D structure models with Tekla, whilst calculating quantities and client presentations.
  • Importing model data from a avriety of software packages and client BIM models.
  • Working from the models, production of GA drawings, insertion of connection details to the Tekla Structures model, to then generation of fabrication drawings and NC data.
  • Generation of TQs and GA drawings for approval.
  • Work closely with the Production Team, to ensure that produced drawings are compatible with relevant machinery and adhere to high standards of editing.
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans.
  • Determine project requirements by identifying project phases, elements, studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards etc.
  • Work closely with the design team.
Skills and Experience Required by a Draughtsman:
  • Working experience with the Tekla software is essential.
  • Necessary of a good working knowledge of BIM.
  • Experience with preparin all necessary drawings, models, and electronic data required, showing a technical understanding of these, documentation skills, and an understanding of design requirements.
  • Full utilisation of differing softwares, including Tekla, Fabtrol and Autodesk.
  • Knowledge of current drawing practice and standards related to 3D model build, connections detailing and fabrication drawings.
  • Enthusiastic, committed & driven to achieve effective results and reach all targets.
