Job Description

2nd Line IT Suuport TechnicianLocation: Rossendale (travel to client side needed)Salary: £22,000 to £30,000 Pension, travelling expensesMy client is an established IT Service Management company with a proven track record of providing excellent service to its clients.Due to continued growth and success, they are looking to create a team of field based Technicians to help support its customers. They require 2nd Line Technicians, both junior (1st/2nd Line) and more experienced (2nd/3rd) to join their team and disupt the ITSM market in Lancashire.Working from offices in Rossendale, you will service customers in the local area providing excellent customer service. As well as the required tehnical experience, you be a good communicator able to talk confidentally and professionally with the customer.Skills required for the role:

  • Timely resolution of customer inclidents and technical problems
  • Understanding customer SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and responding in a timely manner
  • Allocating and validating correct catergorisation and prioritisation codes
  • Escalating cases to 3rd Line or Management when RISK of significant service deterioration is present
  • Understand customers hardware and individual networks
  • Updating service, asset management and configuration management where necessary
  • Good awareness of CHM (change management) process
  • Communicating incident progress updates to customers, communicating progress against SLAs
  • Technical skills:
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy
  • Server 2012/2016
  • Knowledge of DHCP/DNS/Folder Permissions
  • Basic firewall/router configuration
  • Switches
  • Some antivirus software experience
  • Hyper-V/Esxi
  • PC/Laptop installations
  • On premises Exchange Administration and Office 365 deployment
  • Undertanding of backup technologies
