JM183: Fabricator/Welder (Working at Height)Location: MidlothianSalary: CompetitiveOverview:First Military are working in partnership with our client to recruit a Fabricator Welder who can work at height. The purpose of the role is to repair and make safe high inaccessible structures such as multi storey buildings, chimneys, cooling towers, officeblocks and historical buildings with a strong emphasis on health and safety, quality control, value for money and corporate responsibility.Key Accountabilities (major end results the job is expected to achieve): Assisting to deliver a variety of working at height projects according to job specifications Follow method statements, risk assessments and site specific safety regulations and comply with strict Company and industry policies and regulations. Work with a safety first mentality, to fabricate mild and stainless steel and assembling them following technical drawings Cutting and preparation of steel using various types of welding, mig/arc/tig/plasma etc Mark, positioning and welding of steel part to an excellent standard Heavy lifting and assisting with general labouring duties Complete Company paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including point of work risk assessment, job sheets, material schedules and timesheets and ensure this is returned to the office based teamJob Context / Key Challenges:This is role is to join our team of 30 busy professional steeplejacks working out of our Rosewell office. The role is relatively labour intensive and necessitates working at height. The role will require working across both local and national sites so willneed to be prepared to periodically work away from home.A safety first mind set is critical, working on constructions sites alongside multi-disciplinary trades people, you will need the ability to communicate professionally and clearly with counterparts, which is critical to ensure the smooth handover of projects.Person Profile (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Experience: CITB card in welding and fabrication Physically able to climb and work at height Holds current CSCS card and/or working at height competency Good planning/problem solving skills and management of risk Ability to assess risks in a construction environment Good communication skills and a team player Flexible and dynamic approach to all tasks. Customer facing experience in a field service environment
