Job Description

Day Centre Assistant- East LondonAre you a passionate, dedicated Day Centre Assistant looking for your next role 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Day Centre Assistant to join the team based in East London.Part Time(18 hours per week)£13.15-£16.15 per hour Umbrella RatesAbout the Service:To be part of a dedicated team of staff to in order to support Day Opportunity Officers (DOO’s) in providing personalised activities in accordance with support plans for adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities. The main aim being to enable achieveimprovements in their health, employability, social and community involvement and independence.Information on the Role:

  • Being guided by Day Centre s Officers and/or managers to use person centred approaches to ensure that the Service provides activities which enhance the quality of life for adults with a physical and or sensory disabilities.
  • Work in a structured manner according to Day Centre Assistant set programmes.
  • Work with risk assessments and assist in the updating of support plans.
  • Ensure all documentation is written up in a legible and timely manner
  • Discuss with team members the content of risk assessments. Ensure that risk assessments are read regularly.
  • Will support the team to ensure service user engagement at the Centre or in the community.
  • To follow all procedures for the Centre and service users
  • Undertake additional task (related to the delivery of programmes) as required by manager – Example 2020 – NHS call line and visiting LFT testing.
  • Be alert to incidences of concern which may need the safeguarding protocol to be implemented.
  • Work with risk assessments and assist in the updating of support plans.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience working with adults and physical and or sensory disabilities.
  • To be flexible in approach in order to support service users and colleagues.
  • The ability to be professional at all times with parent/carers whilst ensuring that the service user comes first.
  • The ability to plan for, adapt to and work with a variety of situations, individuals and groups
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
