Job Title: Trainee EngineerLocation: Rochester, KentHours: Monday-Friday 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm (optional overtime available)Salary: £28,000 - £33,000We are incredibility excited to bring this opportunity to the market on behalf of our food manufacturing client, based in Rochester.This is a great introductory role into Engineering and would suit someone who is looking to step into Engineering having recently gained Engineering qualifications or someone who is currently in a Machine Operator or Production Technician looking to utilisetheir skills further.This business is a market leader in training and upskilling, providing you with a personalised progression plan to allow you to progress to a Multi Skilled Engineer position in the near future.· Greasing and Machine Preparation: Carry out routine greasing and lubrication tasks on manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth operation and prevent premature wear and tear. Prepare machines for production runs by performing basic setup andcalibration procedures.· Assist with Preventative Maintenance: Support senior engineers in implementing preventative maintenance programs for all machinery and equipment. Participate in scheduled maintenance activities, including inspections, cleaning, and minorrepairs.· Troubleshooting Assistance: Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing basic troubleshooting tasks under the guidance of senior engineers. Learn to identify common problems and implement appropriate solutions to minimize downtime.· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including greasing schedules, equipment logs, and maintenance checklists. Assist in preparing reports and updates for the maintenance manager as required.· Learn and Develop Skills: Take advantage of training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering and manufacturing technology. Shadow senior engineers and learn from their expertise inmaintaining and repairing complex machinery.· Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to best practices in equipment operationand maintenance.Qualifications and Skills:· No prior experience required; recent graduates or candidates with limited experience are encouraged to apply.· Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.· Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.· Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.· Enthusiasm for hands-on work and a desire to develop practical engineering skills.
