Job Description

At The Sanctuary Trust, were looking for energetic Project Housing Workers at our hostels based in Rochdale and North Wales. We have opportunities for both permanent staff and casual bank staff. We are both IIP accredited and are Disability Confident Committed.Our aim is to help people take their full place in society and live independently. We offer a better quality of life by providing accommodation which gives our guests the stability to take greater responsibility for their lives.About you

  • Keen to make a difference to peoples lives by supporting and assisting people who have fallen on hard times
  • Previous experience in a support or other relevant role
  • Excellent communication skills and an empathetic nature
  • Able to deal with situations that occur from being homeless
  • Working unsociable hours in accordance with the hostels needs
About the role
  • Assisting in the day to day intensive housing management of HMO accommodation including emergency and A Bed Every Night projects, and an abstinence-based hostel
  • The post holder will be responsible for the day to day operation of the units - housing, access, egress, mediation, administration, monitoring, daily report writing
  • Participation in staff development & training and support the overall ethos of the trust
  • To share responsibility for the units and all materials, equipment, furniture and fittings
  • Work within the companys equal opportunities, equality and diversity procedures
  • Deal with members of the public, local authority, members of voluntary and statutory agencies within the field of substance misuse and other local, regional or national groups/ organisations as necessary
  • Controlling, accessing, facilitating and monitoring site visits from contractors and other visitors/professionals
  • Arranging health and safety and risk assessments of property, management, administration, delivery and facilitation of housing services provided
