Job Description

Sustainability is a reality where we all have to play our part, whether were shopping for weekly groceries, lowering our impact in our homes or youre a manufacturer working to reduce the use of packaging and plastics.Were looking for a Packaging Specialist to help this established and ethical business on their journey to improve and reduce packaging.You may already be working with packaging as a technologist or maybe youre working in manufacturing. You will have a good understanding of materials and recycling, as well as a keen eye for detail and data.This is a shiny new role and youll be well rewarded with an excellent salary and a benefits package which includes pension, parking and hybrid working; youll also be working for one of the most forward-thinking, award-winning business who nurture and developtheir staff.The Job:As part of the Technical & Quality team, your role will be to work closely with customers and suppliers gathering data; youll be responsible for:

  • Packaging Approval and sign off - including printed packaging as well as packaging materials
  • Assist in the provision of cost estimations regarding legislation changes
  • Maintain a database of packaging per stock item including material, weight and % recycled content
  • Gather evidence required to demonstrate 30% recycled content
  • Ensure checks are completed in line with government requirements
  • Provide reporting to demonstrate improvements made in terms of recyclability across all products
  • Looking after projects to meet customer demands and deadlines
  • Improving packaging recycling within our own sites
Your Skills:Youll probably have a packaging or quality background and have a passion for sustainability; youll also need:
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • First class customer skills
  • Confident IT skills (particularly Excel)
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Analytical in your approach
