Job Description

A permanent role within the Not for Profit sector paying between £20,000 and £22,000 looking for a switched on Finance Officer.Client DetailsOur client work with members of the community to provide support and guidance during periods of vulnerability and need. Having been around for over 40 years, they pride themselves on supporting those in need to overcome the experiences theyve had and reallymade a positive impact on the lives of many people.DescriptionThe key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;

  • To provide support in the delivery of an effective and efficient financial function as directed, which includes maintaining financial systems including sage accounts, allocation of recharges, HB and rent payments, monthly payroll, reconciling petty cashand bank, maintaining debtor and creditor control, to process invoices, payments, debtor accounts and other financial documents as directed, to match invoices to goods receipt notes/purchase orders, to create and pay invoices, sending out monthly statementswhere required, reporting on outstanding creditor and debtor debt and arrears and producing all associated reports and associated duties.
  • To ensure financial procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively, maintaining balances across all bank accounts and any cash and cash functions at all times, and no less than month end.
  • To ensure administration of quarterly rent statements for service users is completed as required
  • To provide financial support and advice to suppliers and employees, in consultation with the Finance Manager.
ProfileThe successful candidate must possess the following skillset; Experience of using financial systems, such as Sage Accounts, sage Payroll spreadsheets and databases. Experience of handling and reconciling cash, banking and recording transactions To be familiar with the Windows environment and be able to use Microsoft Office software, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, computer file management, internet and e-mail. Experience of the operation of finance functions. Experience of working as part of a team Demonstrate an ability to work with figures accurately and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing The ability to communicate in face-to-face situations and via the telephone in a confident and professional manner with a diverse range of people. To have the ability to work in a methodical manner and represent the organization. Good keyboard skills with attention to detail. Able to collect, prepare, analyse, interpret and present data correctly in report format Able to meet tight deadlines whilst working accurately Work on own initiative but recognise the importance of referring matters on appropriately Knowledge of information technology appropriate to an office environment. Basic understanding of housing and welfare benefits. Knowledge of accounting and budgeting proceduresJob OfferOn offer to the candidate;
