BuyerPermanent | Full TimeRochdale Paying £35k-£40kMedlock Partners are partnering with a manufacturing business based in Rochdale to help them identify a Buyer for their team.The successful person will be part of a team of 3, reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, responsible for the daily procurement of SAP generated MRP requirements, daily expediting of outstanding requirements and for sourcing and assessing suitability of potentialnew vendors, performing audits, managing and monitoring performance and quality levels through KPIs and vendor visits. If this sounds like you, then Id be keen to speak to you.Key responsibilities of the Buyer:* Working across functions to identify areas that would benefit from outsourcing.* Finding, visiting, & auditing suitable potential vendors for current and possible future requirements.* Negotiating with vendors on prices, lead times, available capacities etc.* Planning and managing the transfer of work from the factory.* Daily procurement of SAP generated MRP requirements.* Daily expediting of all outstanding requirements to ensure min. 90% vendor OTD.* Daily interrogation of MRP system to verify accurate due dates and quantities.* Obtaining quotations to support Sales function.* Managing & closing out any Quality related vendor issues.* Actively supporting 5S and Lean projects.* Auditing new and existing suppliers as part of approval process.* Identifying, quantifying & driving cost saving initiativesKey requirements for the Buyer:* CIPS qualified* Qualified Engineer* Experience of using SAP Purchasing is essential* Knowledge of planning processes* Knowledge of machining processes* Ability to source new vendors in low cost countries* Supplier auditing experience* Dealing with overseas vendors* Establishing proactive expediting* Engineering experience* XL / Word proficient* Negotiating skills* Lean Manufacturing* Analytical skills* Overseas travelIf you are interested in this Buyer position and feel your experience matches the criteria then please apply now for immediate consideration or for more information please contact Kerry Norman.Medlock Partners are a professional services recruitment specialist operating across the Northwest of England.
