We currently have an opportunity available for a Maintenance Manager to join our team working in Plymouth. In return, we offer an excellent range of benefits which include free car parking at the majority of our sites, company Sharesave Scheme, and various health benefits.About the role of our Maintenance Manager: You will Manage the delivery of second line maintenance activities through a team of Drinking Water Service MEICA Craftspersons. This will include the development and optimisation of working arrangements, performance measures and skilling opportunitiesin addition to supporting the effective processing of planned and reactive maintenance requests by the area operational management team to ensure key outcomes and business targets are met.Responsibilities of our Maintenance Manager include:
  • Actively engaging with the team delivering their daily work activities and support the delivery of agreed targets and outcomes under the direction of the DWS Operations Manager.
  • Collaborating with the DWS Management Team and the area Health and Safety Representatives to review Site Risk Assessments and/or safe systems of work to effectively manage risks.
  • Taking the lead in the delivery of Lean RCM techniques and processes within the operational area to improve plant and equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Managing staff resources to balance resource against demand with due regard for key calendar events of public holiday periods in addition to individual craftspersons circumstances and requests.
  • Ensuring the maintenance team deliver a positive service for the delivery unit and that proactive and positive communication pathways are established with the central support functions.
  • Being accountable for meeting OPEX and Reactive CAPEX budgets assigned to the role
  • Helping support effective reactive decision making with appropriate escalation where necessary to safeguard personnel, product and outcome targets.
  • Engaging with the Stores and Logistics team to ensure a fully optimised supply chain that maximises the availability of parts and materials and optimises operability recovery time and reduces cost and or compliance impact wherever possible.
  • Ensuring work is carried out in a satisfactory and timely manner and conduct regular audits of work quality with the support of the DWS Management Team.
  • Being responsible for ensuring appropriate training and development of the team members is planned and maintained to include compliance with regulatory training needs. This will include maintenance of skills held within Field Force Planner (FFP) in collaborationwith the Data and Schedule Optimiser.
  • Ensuring all field delivery personnel are suitably equipped with the correct materials and equipment to discharge their responsibilities to include provision of transport, PPE and equipment.
What we are looking for in our Maintenance Manager:
  • Preferably educated to A Level standard, minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English and a science subject.
  • HNC in related discipline linked with MEICA specific skills and competency
  • 3 years experience of working in either an operational MEICA delivery role
