Staff365 are looking to recruit a Toolmaker for our client based in Ripley.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Toolroom Supervisor to join our clients Toolroom Department. This will be a permanent, full-time position, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm (43 hours per week). Salary dependant on experience.Purpose of Role: The Toolroom Supervisor will support the Toolroom Foreman with the day-to-day management of the team.Main duties and responsibilities:* Be able to read engineering drawings to produce parts required using Lathes & drills, millingmachines, grinding machines etc* Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; makeadjustments as necessary.* Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine toolsand hand tools.* Inspect finished dies and calibrators for correct fittings, surface finish, contour conformity, anddefects.* Set up and operate conventional, CNC or NC machine tools such as lathes, WEDM machines,milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to given tolerancesand specifications.* Be able to measure finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instrumentssuch as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.* Ensuring that company and legislated Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.* Supervise the toolroom team - training, housekeeping, improvement, prioritise day to day issues.* Manage and prioritise labour to tooling breakdowns.* Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills at all levels within the business.Essential Skills:* Excellent written and verbal communication Basic numeracy, literacy and ICT skills Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills of a team Strong communication and listening skill Ability to self-motivate and coach the other team membersDesirable:* Previous experience in a Supervisory role* Grade C and above in Maths and EnglishINDHP
