Job Description

Adept are proud to be working with a very reputable heavy engineering company who supply into the MOD, Nuclear and more. They are seeking an electrically biased maintenance engineer to join their team.Working hours - Monday -Friday. DAYS ONLY As a Maintenance Engineer you will be an integral part of the maintenance team, contributing to the delivery of effective maintenance support and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the department.Your primary responsibilities will include carrying out repairs and planned maintenance on the main machinery and building maintenance and other associated equipment.

  • You will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure maintenance plans are executed seamlessly. Ensure that all work is undertaken safely.
  • Ensure that general housekeeping is maintained in line with the established standards.
  • Ensure that all standard work procedures are followed as required including any work permits or similar.
  • Maintenance Install new equipment on site to the required standards and specifications.
  • Diagnose faults on plant and equipment as required and establish methods for rectification.
  • Ensure any mechanical or electrical work is carried out within the level of competence.
  • Ensure that all work is undertaken safely.
  • Ensure that general housekeeping is maintained in line with the established standards.
  • Ensure that all standard work procedures are followed as required including any work permits or similar.
  • Control of Suppliers and Contractors.
  • Ensure effective procurement of any spare part requirements, including communication with suppliers and the raising of purchase orders.
  • Ensure any contractors working on site are under suitable supervision and have completed the required contractor induction process.
Qualifications / Experience Required;
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Ability to read drawings and diagrams
  • Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and with minimal supervision
