An established global logistics business is looking to hire a customer service representative to assist with their import / export freight. This ambitious company are keen to grow a presence in the UK and have exciting plans, making this an excellent time to join the team. The ideal person will have previous experience across either import or export and be multimodal across air, sea, and road freight. Previous experience preparing customs documentation would be highly advantageous! This role would suit someone customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position requires a high attention to detail and an ability to work well within a fast paced and deadline driven environment. A competitive salary of up to £27,000pa, DOE, is offered along with enhanced holidays and the chance to join a reputable global logistics business in their first UK site.About the Role:· Handling import/export shipments following specific instructions · Generating all relevant import/export documentation · Accepting and booking orders · Calculating rates and selecting the best mode of transport · Billing and invoicing · Preparing freight and customs documentation · Customer service and making quotations via the online tools, including timely follow-ups · Negotiation with carriers (shipping lines, airlines, etc.) · Effectively coordinating airfreight and sea freight operations Essential Skills & Experience· Confident to work in a fast-paced industry · Experience working in an international environment · Passion for freight forwarding & logistics · Some experience in logistics & freight forwarding is desirable · Excellent customer service skills - really customer focused and having a passion to get things right · Great communication skills with excellent accuracy skills · Able to absorb new information and training well and adapt in a fast paced and changing role About the Benefits· Competitive salary offered of up to £27,000pa, DOE · Core working hours 40 hours per week, 8.30am to 5.30pm, but will need to be flexible to work weekends and evenings if required · 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays · Individual training and development opportunities · Operational exposure to all modes of transportation · Opportunity to work in the first UK site · Free Parking · Pension To ApplyIf this sounds like a role you will LOVE, please send your CV today!
