Job Description

We are delighted to have been chosen to recruit the new HR Manager for an instantly recognisable Welsh company. Our client seeks an experienced and proactive HR professional to lead and develop a small team.The role reports into an experienced and supportive CFO, who is seeking a HR lead who will provide consistent and professional HR guidance across all departments. The new HR Manager will work with the CFO to ensure the business plan, strategy and peopleobjectives are delivered year on year.This is the perfect role for someone able to lead the HR operational team and possesses the drive and energy to further develop the HR offering for a diverse workforce. The new HR manager should be someone who is equally focused on commercial and people-centricoutcomes. The hard working and loyal workforce are central to the success of this business and as such, the new HR Manager should relish the opportunity to make continuous improvements and support the current change programme. One of the key projects willbe researching and project managing the implementation of a new HR system across the business.The job

  • You will ensure that the Company complies with all laws and regulations relating to employment and manage employees in a fair and transparent way, and will act as a trusted advisor to Directors and Managers in all aspects of HR.
  • You will develop a strong working relationship with Senior Line Managers, providing them with expert guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities in order to ensure a consistent and fair approach to people management throughout thebusiness.
  • You will manage the development and progression of the HR, Training & Payroll team, overseeing and supporting the team with day-to-day activities.
  • You will ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of people throughout the business.
  • You will contribute and support the leadership of the business in a way which supports the achievement of vision, values and strategic objectives. Acting as a champion for effective people management to ensure the organisation developing a people-orientedcompany culture.
  • You will lead and administer the Company performance management system ensuring managers complete employee development reviews in accordance with Company policy. Propose, plan and implement initiatives to drive a high-performance team, as well as an inclusiveand collaborative culture.
  • You will play a key role in managing employee relations, including working closely with Trade Unions and in house Trade Union representatives.
  • You will ensure that there are consistent recruitment practices. Supporting the Directors with talent mapping and succession planning process. Monitor HR trends and provide and manage Key Performance Indicators on relevant areas to the board and actionplanning for improvement.
  • You will be responsible for all aspects of the payroll function.
The person
  • Ideally CIPD Qualified (Level 7). Good general level of education
  • Proven HR Generalist experience of at least 5 years
  • Evidence of constructive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with diplomacy. Organisational change management experience. Conflict resolution experience.
  • Proven experience of negotiating with Unions.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of HR / Payroll systems and Proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
  • Conversant and up to date with all aspects of employment law, policies, and HR best practice.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong influencing, persuading and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills with a track record of achieving tasks and projects to challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and engagement with colleagues at all levels, board members, unions and other stakeholders.
  • A clear thinker, able to motivate and make effective decisions in a complex and challenging environment.
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary £50-55k
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank holidays
  • Pension 3% EE, 6% ER
