We are currently looking for a Technical Application Scientist - qPCR to join a world leading life sciences company based in the Renfrewshire area. The Technical Application Scientist - qPCR will require a hands-on approach to responding to both customer andchannel partners technical support requirements. The role is primarily a customer facing, but also requires working with internal colleagues to address technical and customer satisfaction challenges.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Technical Application Scientist - qPCR will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. Manage technical support cases through phone, email exchanges and occasional in-person visits where necessary.2. Assist customers/channel partners with product quality and performance issues. Assists with trouble shooting and root cause analysis3. Prepare reference material for users by collating and communicating operational and technical instructions. Serve as a key liaison on technical matters. Provide timely follow up on outstanding client issues4. Refer customer to appropriate qualified technical staff member in response to sophisticated customer technical inquiries and/or problems. 5. Participate in frequent training on products and continuing education on new applications and technologies to remain at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge.6. Summarize trends and technology as technical tips, FAQs and troubleshooting guides.7. Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute to department meetings.8. Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in Customer Relationship Management system.ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Technical Application Scientist - qPCR we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree (ideally MSc or PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline. In addition, you should have hands-on experience with quantitative/real-time PCR/Sequencing techniques, including sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis.2. Proven industry experience with assay and instrument troubleshooting, and knowledge of real-time/sequencing instruments, software, kits and services.3.
