Thermo Fisher Scientific has an exciting FTC for a qualified Statutory Accountant. The role is part of the expansion of Thermo Fisher Scientific EMEA Finance Centre of Excellence (COE), with the successful candidate being a key member of the External Reporting team (Statutory accounting), managing a defined population of legal entities which serve a number of different Thermo Fisher Scientific business divisions (AIG/SDG/LPD).The successful candidate will be a key point of contact within the team, with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize deliverables in a fast paced, often changing, environment. Experience of statutory accounting/external audit, along with the ability to apply accounting principles, is essential for this role.Location: PaisleyWhat will you doPreparation of statutory financial statements (Local GAAP) for a defined population of German legal entities.Contribute and execute to the EMEA external statutory reporting timetable.Lead the completion of a number of statutory audits reported through the COE - this will involve working with a number of internal and external international stakeholders.Ensure clear communication is maintained with external auditors throughout the audit process.Key member of the team transitioning and embedding statutory reporting responsibilities into the COE.Point of contact for technical accounting issues.Working with the wider team on PPI (process improvements).What are we looking forFinance experience to include a substantial background in statutory accounting, auditing and financial control.Strong technical orientation with an understanding of US GAAP/IFRS - any Local GAAP experience, particular German GAAP would be advantageous.Undergraduate degree or equivalent with a professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA or CIMA).Proactive problem solver with a focus on delivering high quality output within strict deadlines.Excellent stakeholder management skills.Demonstrates highest level of integrity, trust and strong compliance orientation.Ability to work effectively within a wider international team.Proficient user of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).What do we offerWe can offer excellent opportunities to progress your career along with training and a chance to be a part of a growing successful organization.Attractive base salary & bonus to be discussedOn site subsidised gym facilities & free on site car parkingCore benefits include - BUPA healthcare coverage, Life Assurance policy (4 x base salary), Employee Assistance Program, Stakeholder pension scheme, 33 days annual leave plus including bank holidaysFlexible benefits include - dental scheme, option to upgrade or extend BUPA cover, Cycle to Work scheme, subsidized gym memberships, travel insurance, retail discount & moreAbout us:Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is the world leader in serving science, with annual revenue exceeding $25 billion.
