Due to internal promotion we have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious part qualifiedAccountant to join our team based in Paisley This is an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding Centre Of Excellence in an organisation considered a global leader in its field which offers great career development and opportunities. The centre provides financial controllership in the region for two of the Thermo Fisher Scientific groups - Life Sciences Solutions and Special Diagnostics. We are responsible for a large number of entities reporting a total of $2 Billion of revenue per year. This role will be responsible for our SDG business for FinlandWhat will you doEnsuring the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of monthly close activitiesPreparing accounting entries Evaluating entries for completeness and accuracyReviewing general ledger activity, researching and correcting account discrepanciesPerforming balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub ledger accountsResearching and resolve any reconciling items on a monthly basisPerforming variance analysis including current-to-prior month/quarter/year fluctuationsManagement reporting to Corporate through HyperionSupporting the preparation of Statutory Accounts where requiredPreparing and submitting of government and other agency returns, including but not limited to Tax returns and government statistics returnsCoordinating accounting entries with other departments and accounting system modulesEnsuring compliance with Corporate Accounting policies, procedures and controls (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)Actively participating in the company PPI initiative to ensure process improvementsAd-hoc activities as requiredWho we are looking for Experience of month end reporting, statutory accounts, management accounting, balance sheet reconciliations & VAT returnsPrevious experience in a large scale organisation would be beneficialHighly motivated and detail oriented individual with excellent communication, computer and organisational skillsAbility to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environmentExcellent attention to detail as accuracy is required in performing all aspects of the roleProficient in MS ExcelAbility to work well under time constraintsWorking knowledge of ERPs (E1 or SAP) (Desired but not essential) High level of proactivity to drive continuous improvementWhat do we offerWe can offer excellent opportunities to progress your career along with training and a chance to be a part of a growing successful organization.Attractive base salary & bonus to be discussed On site subsidised gym facilities & free on site car parkingCore benefits include - BUPA healthcare coverage, Life Assurance policy (4 x base salary), Employee Assistance Program, Stakeholder pension scheme, 33 days annual leave plus including bank holidaysFlexible benefits include - dental scheme, option to upgrade or extend BUPA cover, Cycle to Work scheme, subsidized gym memberships, travel insurance, retail discount & moreAbout us:Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is the world leader in serving science, with annual revenue exceeding $25 billion.
