We are looking for a permanent Band 6 Nurse, Community Specialist Mental Health, to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team based at Renfrew CAMHS. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN/) with NMC Registration, relevant post registration experience of working with children and/or young people (and their families/carers) with a range of mental health/ learning disability and neuro-developmental difficulties, an ability to work independently using own initiative and without direct supervision. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills and demonstrate a positive attitude towards children and young people alongside an understanding of children and young people’s mental health and developmental needs.You must demonstrate an understanding of family, community, and social systems. This post will use a relationship based approach with young people who are looked after and accommodated in Renfrewshire, provide advice and guidance to staff and managers on emotional/mental health issues for the young people in their care and represent CAMHS at various groups responsible for young people in residential care in Renfrewshire.You should have the ability to function competently as a member of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team and have knowledge of factors which impact on mental health and emotional well-being. You must be able to conceptualise vulnerability, including risk factors and intervene to build resilience. You must demonstrate an ability/willingness to work towards achieving the competencies identified in ‘Essential CAMHS’ and a commitment to personal and professional development. You should have evidence of organisational skills and experience of multi-disciplinary working.You may be expected to participate in the provision of on call/out of hours cover on a rotational basis which will involve working out-with normal hoursAs part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be short listed for interview.
