Job Description

Our Client is a speciality supplier and manufacturer of raw materials to the UK Chemical, Food, Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Industries.They are now seeking a Quality Control Manager. This position will be based in Redditch, Worcestershire and is a full-time permanent role.Job Purpose

  • Controls the Quality of Products developed, manufactured, purchased and sold by the company.
  • Audits work processes, investigates root cause and ensures compliance by providing guidance and training
  • Works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to support achievement of employee compliance with the QMS
  • Leads efforts and is responsible for the development of the management systems to support company growth
  • Responsible together with the Quality Assurance Manager for Regulatory, Health, Safety and Environmental compliance of the company
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Approving or rejecting all manufactured or processed product, product containers, closures, in-process materials, packaging material, labelling and drug products
  • Product analysis and review of production records
  • Approving or rejecting raw materials manufactured, processed, packed or held by our Client or another company
  • Validating supply chains to ensure that supplier outputs will be to quality standards. This includes approval and audit of suppliers of product and services that directly affect quality of products
  • Fully investigating product non-conformities, deviations, deficiencies and complaints. Investigating root cause and communicating outcomes
  • Using the CAPA and PDCA processes and providing information and trends to QA
  • Validates quality products by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification
  • Ensures company is compliant with all certifications required to support the growth of the business e.g. ISO, BRC or equivalent. Cooperates with QA Manager in maintaining Internal Auditing system and supporting Auditing by external certification bodies
  • Regulatory: follows live updates and ensures QMS compliance with the QA Manager.
  • Health and Safety:ensure QMS compliance with regulations and guidance with the QA Manager.
  • Environmental:ensure QMS compliance with regulations and guidance with the QA Manager.
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Practical experience of Quality Control in a chemical manufacturing environment and familiarity with a wide range of analytical equipment and techniques
  • Creates and implements new QC methodologies and protocols to support development of toll and in-house manufacturing processes
  • Good proficiency in MS Office package. Strong numerical approach to carry out data trend-analysis and ability to identify and interpret variation patterns
  • Ability to understand and enable implementation of complex regulatory standards e.g. European Pharmaceutical
  • Understanding of the sensitivities associated with a commercial sales operation and of the pivotal role the QC function has in the Supply Chain
  • Attention to detail. Ability to learn, provide training internally as well as identify suitable external training, reach consensus and communicate in an operational environment
  • Thriving under pressure, at ease in a fast-paced environment and able to respond to fast-evolving circumstances
  • Driven, self-motivated and pro-actively engaging stakeholders towards sustaining a strong company Quality culture
  • ISO trained auditor, with knowledge of quality systems
