Senior Project ManagerReporting to the Head of EngineeringBased in: Wilton International, TeessideSalary: Negotiable - Whilst all salaries are graded, Sembcorp are keen to attract, retain and develop the highest calibre of colleague. Also, the company offer a market leading benefits package and annual bonus.Position overview:This position is responsibility for the successful conclusion of capital engineering and construction projects and to oversee both the Project Engineering and Project Execution teams to ensure that the portfolio of capital projects is completed on time andwithin budget, to a high standard and in a safe manner.Key responsibilities:Maintain a proactive and positive team ethos.Be commercially aware and adhere to commercial governance in all activitiesProvide leadership to strategically manage risk, monitor finances and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time.Formulate strategy and operational plans for each project.Develop project quality proceduresMake strategic decisions in a timely manner and providing leadership and direction to project managers to implement those decisionsDevise cost-effective plans and strategies during project developmentBe willing to challenge/remove blockers that stop the Projects team successfully completing their jobs be it from internal or external factorsManage risks to avoid delays or reputational damageProvide leadership, advice, guidance, and coaching to the project managers and develop everyone to be well rounded and skilled in all aspects of project management and engineeringCoordinate projects resource to ensure optimum resource strength at all timesContracting with outside agencies for support on a need basisEnsure optimum performance from the Projects team through optimum resource loading, monitoring individual and team morale, developing effective relationships and team camaraderieRecommend and implement recovery plans for ongoing projects that appear not to be proceeding on schedule or are producing unsatisfactory resultsDevelop an alternate course of action for completing a job should the initial plan failMeet with clients, stakeholders and project managers to report on project progressLiaise with stakeholders and build strong working relationshipsRequirements: Experience in managing project engineering and execution teamsExperience in power/utilities industries would be advantageous but not essentialBudget Management skills and experiencePeople management skills and experienceIn depth knowledge and experience in development of project execution and contracting strategy of small to very large projectsExperience of work on brownfield and/or aging assetsStrong understanding of engineering principlesStrong understanding of project management principlesExcellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams with shifting deadlinesExcellent planning, organisational and time management skills used to successfully coordinate and direct project teams to positive deliveries.A full UK driving licenceFor more information on this opportunity please contact at retained recruitment partner Anthony Antoniou at Imperial Recruitment Group
