Job Description

Senior Project Development Manager Reporting to the Business Development DirectorBased in: Wilton, Teesside / SolihullSalary: Negotiable - Whilst all salaries are graded, Sembcorp are keen to attract, retain and develop the highest calibre of colleague.Position overview:Reporting to the Business Development Director, the successful candidate will take a lead in the implementation of growth and sustainability strategies. Sembcorps UK growth in renewables (including battery energy storage), the transition to sustainableenergy production and expansion of urban solutions will be driven by the Business Development team. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution through originating and securing growth opportunities and delivering the associated projects toconstruction and commercial colleagues.Key responsibilities:

  • Originate and develop growth opportunities aligned to strategy. To include optimisation of Sembcorps existing portfolio and securing additional opportunities through acquisition
  • Lead major projects through conception to pre-construction. Support colleagues through construction phases
  • Lead or support negotiations on strategic business development opportunities associated with growth and sustainability.
  • Coordinate between departments to ensure smooth information flow and optimal project delivery.
  • Manage the new Project Development team.
Essential:
  • You will be a highly effective communicator with an analytical mind and keen eye for detail which will enable you to identify risks, navigate complex matters and find innovative solutions.
  • You will have extensive experience working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, participating in business development initiatives and successfully implementing strategies aligned with company goals and objectives
  • Understanding of constituent parts of energy and utility projects.
  • Successful track record in delivery of multi-disciplinary energy projects.
  • Commercial and technical grasp of energy and utility projects.
  • Interest in new technologies, renewables and sustainability
  • Strong understanding of the contract structures required for a successful project
  • Ability to manage model assumptions to contribute to the modelling process and understand project evaluation led by model outputs.
