Project Delivery Assistant(England North)£20,636 per annum, pro rata(Ref: SUS3754)Part time hours, 22.5 hrs per week - happy to talk flexible workingBase: Tees ValleyAbout the roleWe have exciting opportunities across the areas of Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland for you to really influence and affect change to a more active way of life in the region at the community level.As a member of the delivery team in the North, you will work closely with the delivery coordinator and a project officer to assist with delivery of a variety of Smarter Choices projects designed to promote active travel in communities, workplaces and educationestablishments; making our towns and cities healthier and happier for all those who live in and visit them.You will build and manage internal and external relationships with diverse people from community groups, schools and workplaces, contribute to marketing and communication activities, e.g. through assistance at sustainable travel road show events, distributionof information materials. In addition, you will work alongside partners, in supporting the delivery of a series of initiatives that promote active travel in the region.We ensure flexible working patterns to suit individual circumstances. There will be local travel involved in this role around the areas of our Active Travel Hubs in Redcar and Cleveland, Hartlepool, Darlington and Stockton. Initially you will be workingfrom a local authority office, our Stockton Hub and with some potential for home working too.About youThe ability to communicate clearly is key in this role, allowing you to effectively engage with the diverse range of people our communities consist of helping their journey to becoming more active in the way they travel. To be effective in this role youshould have experience of working with or as a volunteer, delivering a community or environmental based project. A background in customer service and engagement roles would also be useful.You will use your experience in engagement techniques and behaviour change initiatives to engage with the communities, identifying barriers to active travel; with the aim being delivery of a range of initiatives that encourage and enable residents, educationestablishments and businesses to benefit from increased levels of activity through walking and cycling.We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups.
