Operations TechnicianReportingtothe Shift ManagerBasedin: Teesside (Redcar) with infrequent national travelSalary: The salary banding starts from £30,000 SDA (£6800). Also, the company offer a market leading benefits package and annual bonus.Position overview:The WTP/ DSP operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the water treatment plant along with the main utility distribution systems within Sembcorp.Key responsibilities:The responsibilities of the operator are detailed below: -Proficient and flexible in relevant plant areas.Operate plant making plant adjustments as necessary adhering to relevant procedures.Ensure plant routines are completed.Carrying out routine and first-line maintenance as required.Interrogate and interpret process data to assist troubleshooting for any production disturbances.Communicate all situations that present serious or imminent risk.Communication with team and line managers about all activities relating to operations.Make visual checks on plant, identifying defects and reporting through SAP.Isolate, prepare and recommission plant equipment before and after maintenance.Carry out sampling, analysis and gas testing as required.Conduct plant trip and alarm testing.Demonstrate complete ownership of the plant undertaking housekeeping duties and audits.Operate plant remotely without supervision.Act as company representative to site customers at their peer level.Competent in design, verification, and application of complex mechanical isolations.Competent in emergency response proceduresEssentialHNC or equivalent experience.Experience of process plant operation in the Asset Management area including good knowledge of site layout, customer operations and Utilities cost systemsEnhanced IT skills (Outlook, DCS, spreadsheets and Maximo or other CMMS etc.)High concern for standards (SHE and operating)Enhanced communication skills (Customer & Sembcorp UK supervisors and management, plant chemist)Multi skilling (basic fitting and electrical/instrument skills etc.)Ability to driveEnhanced analytical knowledgeBasic project management skillsBasic people management, technical or commercial skills depending on which shift management role is chosen as stand-inCredibility with shift team and customersProactive in identifying and solving problemsGood report writing, communication and meeting skills (in-depth reports/logs)High concern for standards (SHE and operating)Good influencing skillsHigh level of personal resilienceIndustrial experience of safe systems of works in Petrochemical, Chemical or Power generation.Ability to manage major incidentGood report writing, communication and meeting skills (in-depth reports/logsPeople management.
