Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Occupational Therapist to work with the Adult Social Care Team in Redcar. This position is initially for 8 weeks and is paying £21.00 per hour via an umbrella company.The role: The primary purpose of the Occupational Therapy service is to deliver the Councils statutory duties under the following legislation; National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 Section 47(1) Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970, Section 2:National Assistance Act 1948, Section 29(1) & (2)Housing Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996This will be delivered through the functional assessments of people with disabilities and their carers in order to develop value for money plans to improve a persons independence, dignity and care.To actively participate and contribute to partnership working within the Integrated Occupational Therapy ServiceKey Responsibilities: To carry out in conjunction with other key staff, functional assessments of people with disabilities related to their daily living needs, taking into account the needs of their Carers, and to identify appropriate support plans within the scope of FACS eligibility To independently manage a caseload of service users referred from different agencies, and self-referrals with a highly complex range of needs to develop creative responses to support people to return to work, leisure and home activities within the scope of FACS eligibility.To have a good working knowledge of legislation, & policy surrounding disability, housing, building adaptation funding, direct payments and personal budgetsTo identify appropriate systems of support with people and their carers, enabling them to maintain/improve their quality of life and function as independently as possibleTo utilise moving and handling skills in the assessment of service users and teach, demonstrate use of moving and handling equipment to service users, family and carersApplicant Requirements:
