Job Description

Velocity Uk are looking to recruit 4 Logistics Operators for their client in Redcar to start in October.The Logistics Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating Fork Lift Truck machinery to move materials, load and unload vehicles. The duties assigned to the Logistics Operator consist of the following:

  • Collect bales of plastic bottles from vehicles and transport them to the correct storage areas
  • Collect bales and boxes of waste material and load them into skips or vehicles
  • Transport bales of other plastic materials to designated storage area or load onto vehicles
  • Remove finished product bags from loading stations and transport to designated storage area or load onto vehicles
  • Maintain housekeeping to the safe and high standard that Biffa require
  • Report to the shift supervisor operational safety issues and any equipment performance issues or concerns
This position requires listening and operating skills to liaise with supervisor and team members on a daily basis, to aid the shift in meeting a multitude of targetsQSHE and production. The Logistics Operator will be required to train to carry out a numbertasks so that the shift can adapt to maintain optimum standards during the shift.Skills and Knowledge to include the following:
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety in an industrial / processing environment
  • Ensure employee safety and morale by maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Fork Lift Truck licence and experience (training provided if required to the right candidate)
