Monitored and controlled from our central operations facility in Solihull, these flexible assets deliverelectricity to the national grid, helping to balance the UK energy system and ensure reliable power for homes and businesses.We have announced some exciting growth projects in recent months:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the maintenance and continual improvement of the UK Market - Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Leading incident and high potential event (HPE) investigations utilising a root-cause analysis (RCA) based methodology, where appropriate working with the assistant principle in the incident investigation
  • Leading internal compliance audits against internal and external requirements, such as UK Market policies and procedures and industry standards, as well as legal requirements.
  • Developing and/or participating in the creation of Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Manual Handling Assessments, DSE Assessments, Fire Risk Assessments (basic).
  • Carrying out safety inspections / site audits and providing effective safety coaching to colleagues, contract partners and contractors to ensure that site hazards are being effectively controlled.
  • Tracking corrective / preventive actions (CAPAs) and intervening where required to ensure that actions are closed-out on time and to the required standard.
  • Producing management reports which utilise leading and lagging indicators to track safety performance against established targets.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and quality control of entries into HSE-related safety databases.
  • Motivating and encouraging team members, contractors and employees to meet company objectives for continuous improvement in various areas of HSE performance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an HSE Adviser in a high hazard industry (Energy / Utilities, Port Sector, Construction Industry)
  • NEBOSH Diploma or OHS/HSE Degree Qualified
  • Technical or higher membership level of IOSH
  • Incident Investigation experience / qualification
  • Working knowledge of ISO45001:2018
  • Familiarity with wide range of HSE regulations (especially COSHH, DSEAR, Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012)
  • Project management / delivery experience
  • Excellent IT Skills (extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Internal Auditor Qualification
  • NEBOSH Process Safety Management Certificate
  • NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate
  • Occupational Hygiene Knowledge / Experience
