Job Objectives:The Estimator will be working as part of the client’s Estimating function, producing detailed resourced based estimates to evaluate design changes, maintain the baseline cost, and challenge contractors’ estimates. You will report directly to our RegionalEstimating Manager.The ideal candidate must have:• Minimum 5yrs in estimating roles for recognised main contractors• Ability to price projects using first principals• Good understanding of construction management process and techniques• Ability to understand and interpret tender documents, specifications and drawings, take offs• Experience in producing bills of quantities & scopes of work from drawings or client brief• Familiarity with both bespoke and standard forms of JCT and NEC Contracts• Knowledge of estimating packagesDuties and responsibilities to include:• Responsible for the production of tenders, budget estimates and cost plans.• Review of bid documents, drawings, specifications, and other reports applying a good understanding of all components of a tender submission.• Identify any financial, design, production, and contractual risks/opportunities.• Measure quantities and produce Bills of Quantities and/or oversee their production by others.• Ensures enquiries are issued and quotations received from subcontractors and suppliers.
