Environment and Sustainability (E&S) Manager Reporting to the Head of HSSEQ UKBased in Wilton, Teesside with frequent UK travel requiredSalary: Negotiable - Whilst all salaries are graded, Sembcorp are keen to attract, retain and develop the highest calibre of colleague. The company offer a market leading benefits package and annual bonus.Position overview:The role of the Environment and Sustainability (E&S) Manager exists to provide expert advice and support to the business on environmental regulatory affairs, environmental sustainability management practices and planning / development consent order applications.The role holder will work closely with the UK HSSEQ Management Systems Development, Implementation, and Improvement Manager to ensure that excellent systems, polices, procedures and processes are developed, implemented, and operated to a standard which facilitatesand assures effective environmental risk management and safeguards regulatory compliance.Key responsibilities:Supporting the UK Head of HSSEQ in the operation of SEUKs health, safety, security, environment, and quality management system, along with helping to achieve HSSEQ strategic objectives.Providing environmental support to the business both technically and legislatively, through a thorough understanding of existing and upcoming environmental legislation and its impact to the business.Developing networks and attending industry working groups to remain informed of developments within the UK environmental legislative / regulatory space which could impact on SEUKs operations, taking action to influence potential outcomes as required.Advising / assisting the UK HSSEQ System Manager with the development, implementation, and operation of SEUKs management system.Working with key business partners to set and review short and long-term environment and sustainability related objectives and targets.Tracking and prioritising key environment and sustainability risks to ensure appropriate business response to emerging trends, relevant legislation and raising awareness of business risks and opportunities.Providing E&S updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).Assisting in the development of a communication strategy to engage colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring that they are informed of SEUKs approach, successes & future commitments related to environmental management and sustainability.Coordinating / leading all environmental event and incident investigations, ensuring that these are appropriately investigated with actions captured and tracked to completion through SEUKs monitoring and reporting processes.Managing the routine engagement process with regulatory agencies and assisting the UK E&S manager in the environmental stakeholder management process.Regularly contributing to the HSSEQ communication / engagement process to ensure that employees and contractors actively engage with and contribute to the success of HSSEQ management activities.Responsible for SEUKs waste management process and ensuring that it is working effectively within the business. Ensuring stakeholders are aware of process requirements and are fulfilling all regulatory responsibilities.Responsible for leading the development of environmental management related training packages.Providing technical input into the development of inspections / audits focusing on environmental control processes, providing proactive advice / assistance to ensure that deviations from process requirements are addressed and recurrences prevented.Coaching and educating business partner / internal customers, to translate expertise into action / improvement plans.For more information on this opportunity please contact at retained recruitment partner Mehtab Sabir at Imperial Recruitment Group
