Job Description

Commissioning Engineer Based in: Wilton International, TeessideSalary: Negotiable - Whilst all salaries are graded, Sembcorp are keen to attract, retain and develop the highest calibre of colleague. At the site, we provide energy-intensive industrial businesses with combined heat and power (CHP) via our private wire network that supplies electricity generatedby gas and biomass.These services are complemented by our fleet of fast-acting, decentralised power stations and battery storage sites situated throughout England and Wales. Monitored and controlled from our central operations facility in Solihull, these flexible assets deliverelectricity to the national grid, helping to balance the UK energy system and ensure reliable power for homes and businesses.We have announced some exciting growth projects in recent months:

  • Sembcorp Energy UK welcomes Tees Valley Lithium, UK’s first Lithium Hydroxide Processing Facility on Teesside, to Wilton International | Changing Energy Management to Ensure a Sustainable Future
Key Responsibilities: Develop commissioning strategies for all projects.
  • Develop documentation to support commissioning activities.
  • Work with Engineering and Operations team to determine commissioning strategies and plans.
  • To be the SEUK lead for project commissioning activities, including monitoring progress and compilation of all documentation in the site test dossier.
  • Positively encourage a culture of safety first.
  • Working with the Project Development team to develop a strategy to deliver project performance in line with commercial obligations.
  • Developing a strategy for interfacing with the current projects team with regards to the key requirements for Wilton site development and handover to Operations.
  • Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary plant performance in accordance with project programme requirements.
  • Creation of suite of commissioning templates
Requirements:
  • Experience in power/utilities/petrochemical/oil&gas industries
  • Strong communication including writing procedures, reports, etc.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles.
  • In depth knowledge and experience in development of commissioning procedures for process, mechanical, C&I and electrical.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage commissioning on multiple projects with shifting deadlines.

  • Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must.
  • A full driving licence is required and a right to work in the UK is essential.
